Maria Gurevich

Raised and educated in Toronto, I am University of Toronto alumni with 20 years of expertise in developing English language curricula, methodology and educational tools. Over the years, my clients have ranged from young learners struggling with reading, to high school and university students working on enhancing their writing, to corporations looking for professional development training in business writing and public speaking.

At Write Up Your Alley, I developed an original method of teaching that appeals to the math-oriented, logical thinkers and creative thinkers alike.  My clients improve their grades, excel at writing in high school and university, and submit their work for publishing and contests, or receive promotions within their corporations. My writing classes help students build confidence in expressing and defending their ideas, and most importantly, develop a lifelong passion for language.

To stay on top of my profession, I attend classes and workshops taught by Toronto’s prominent writers and journalists, and stay on top of the latest trends in education, and research in cognitive science.

I am proud of having created a learning environment students want to return to year after year. Each day begins with passion for my work and ends with gratitude for my incredible team and our loyal clients.
